Journalist. Legislative staffer. State agency spokesman. Lobbyist. Campaign manager. Non-profit communications director. Few in Michigan’s state government scene can match the scope and depth of Brad Wurfel’s resume.

In the mid-1990s, Wurfel worked in print and television journalism, and he served in Lansing’s Capitol Press Corps. His nearly 25 years in the communications business have included wide-ranging roles — directing and managing communications for five different state departments, in two states, for four governors of both parties; managing state and federal political campaigns; directing communications for non-profits,  including the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland, Oregon; and, working as a Lansing lobbyist for companies with environmental and regulatory challenges.

Wurfel founded BJW Strategies in 2018, with the simple idea that his vast experience and contacts around the many working parts of state government can provide connection, perspective, solutions and success to a wide range of clients.
